Zakharova surges to career-high ranking after W100 Figueira da Foz win
Anastasia Zakharova claimed her first title of the season – and the biggest of her career – by conquering all before her at W100 Figueira da Foz.
The 22-year-old navigated the tournament without dropping a set and lifted silverware for the first time since September 2023 after defeating France’s Kristina Mladenovic 6-2 6-1 in the final.
W100s are the highest classification of women’s event on the ITF World Tennis Tour and, as such, offer significant ranking points, prize money and prestige to the winners.

Victory propelled Zakharova 28 places in the WTA Rankings and she now occupies a career-high No. 125 as she builds towards potentially breaking the Top 100 in the coming weeks and months.
Zakharova has won 13 ITF World Tennis Tour titles during her career – 11 have now come on hard courts – but prior to her triumph at Figueira da Foz all of her wins were at W15 and W25 level. Her victory in Portugal therefore represents a sizeable step forward.
Elsewhere on the ITF World Tennis Tour Women’s, Clervie Ngounoue sealed the second professional title of her career by winning W50 Dallas which, like Zakharova, also represented the biggest title of her career.
France’s Ksenia Efremova, meanwhile, claimed the second ITF World Tennis Tour title of her career at W15 Monastir. The 15-year-old is now the 12th youngest female to win multiple ITF World Tennis Tour titles.
