American teenager Dominick Mosejczuk lifted his first professional title on Sunday, upsetting top seed Theo Papamalamis to win the M15 event in Fayetteville.

Despite enduring a titanic struggle against compatriot Jonah Braswell 24 hours earlier, Mosejczuk showed no ill effects in the final, breaking serve six times to triumph 6-3 6-3.

The 19-year-old is currently a sophomore at Wake Forest University and was contesting only his 13th World Tennis Tour event in Fayetteville, where he was unseeded. After a slow start to the week, he confidently moved through the rounds before battling past Braswell in a dramatic semi-final, saving four match points to prevail 2-6 7-6(6) 6-4.

Mosejczuk, a former world junior No. 22, is making great strides in the senior ranks, and he is on the cusp of breaking into the Top 1000, following a productive summer highlighted by his maiden World Tennis Tour final at M15 Monastir.

Elsewhere last week, there were World Tennis Tour titles for France’s Calvin Hemery, who won the ninth of his career, at M25 Kigali, and Casey Hoole from Australia, after he triumphed on home soil at M25 Darwin for his first professional tournament victory.
