The ITF and the European Paralympic Committee (EPC) have announced the qualification system for the Wheelchair Tennis Event at the Rotterdam 2023 European Para Championships, which will take place from 8 – 13 August.

The competition will feature men’s, women’s and quad singles and doubles events and is sanctioned by the ITF as an ITF 2 Series tournament on the 2023 UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tour. UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Ranking points will be awarded.

The European Para Championships is a new multisport event being held for the first time in 2023 and is one of three regional multisport events this year - along with the Asian Para Games and the Parapan American Games - that will include sanctioned ITF 2 Series wheelchair tennis tournaments.

Wheelchair tennis is one of 10 sports that will be contested in Rotterdam, featuring a 24 draw for men, a 16 draw for women and a 12 draw for quad division players. Wheelchair tennis competition will take place at the Schouwburgpleinm, a plaza in Rotterdam city centre.

The winners of the men's singles and women's singles draws will earn a direct qualification slot for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
