Regional Games offering medal chances on road to LA 2028 Paralympics

With this week marking two years to go until the LA 2028 Paralympic Wheelchair Tennis Event, World Tennis can confirm details for the below regional games, where the winners of the men’s and women’s singles gold medals can earn direct qualification for the LA 2028 Games, subject to meeting the minimal qualification criteria.

2026 Asian Para Games

Location: Aichi-Nagoya, Japan

Location: Geneva, Switzerland
Games dates: 2-15 August 2027

Athlete Quota

The athlete quotas for each of the 2026 Asian Para Games, the 2027 European Para Championships and the 2027 Parapan American Games Wheelchair Tennis Events are confirmed as being 24 Men, 16 Women 12 Quad.

Ranking Points

The wheelchair tennis events at all three of the above regional games will carry WC175 world ranking points on the UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tour and give the winners of the men’s and women’s singles gold medals direct qualification for the LA 2028 Paralympic Wheelchair Tennis Event, subject to meeting the minimal qualification criteria as previously published by World Tennis.
