Salkova makes it five on the ITF Tour in Maribor
Dominika Salkova enjoyed a week to remember on the ITF World Tennis Tour after claiming her biggest title yet at W75 Maribor.
The 19-year-old Czech defeated Talia Gibson, of Australia, 6-2 6-4 in the title match at the Slovenian hard-court tournament to win the fifth ITF singles title of her career.
Salkova, a former junior world No. 24 who reached the girls’ doubles quarter-finals at Wimbledon in 2022, is making steady progress in the women’s game.
She has reaped greater rewards in tennis’ team format – claiming eight ITF doubles titles to date and cracking the WTA doubles top 150 last July – but she is beginning to make similar moves in singles.
The Czech currently sits at No. 204 in the world, but is set to surge inside the WTA’s Top 200 when the rankings are updated after Miami.

It was also a good week for 20-year-old Frenchwoman Lois Boisson, who won her biggest title to date in Cyprus at W35 Alaminos-Larnaca.
World No. 293 Boisson completed a fine week at the event, recording five bagels – including a 6-0 6-0 win over compatriot Carole Monnet in the semi-finals – to claim her third ITF singles title and first above W15 level.
There was also a standout triumph for Australian Gabriella Da Silva Fick, who won her first professional singles title on home soil at W35 Swan Hill.
