Prado Angelo triples ITF men's title tally with fine month
Juan Carlos Prado Angelo is making positive strides on his journey into men’s professional tennis, tripling his title tally on the ITF World Tennis Tour over the past month.
The 18-year-old Bolivian, who became the first player from his nation to attain the junior world No. 1 ranking when he clinched the boys’ top spot in July, has had little trouble converting that winning momentum into men’s competition so far.
He clinched his second men’s title on Argentine clay at the turn of November, defeating Lorenzo Joaquin Rodriguez in the final, and collected a third on home soil at M15 Santa Cruz on Sunday without dropping a set.
Prado Angelo’s positive early foray into ITF men’s competition follows a hugely impressive junior career in which he won 11 titles and reached the 2022 Roland Garros boys’ singles final.
He received a Grand Slam Player Grant, financed by the Grand Slam Player Development Programme in 2022 to assist with his ongoing development, and is certainly capitalising on that investment.
