ITF announces Beach Tennis World Tour Player Panels for 2024-25

30 Nov 2023

The International Tennis Federation (ITF) has revealed the results of recent elections for the ITF Beach Tennis World Tour Player Council.

Nine candidates (eight players and one World Cup team captain) were elected to the council, which was established in 2020 and provides all players with a vehicle through which to give feedback and share experiences with the ITF around how the Beach Tennis World Tour is run. The elected candidates will serve in 2024 and 2025.

The council will be consulted on a number of areas including the overall strategy for the growth of beach tennis, tournament standards, optimisation of the calendar, rules and regulations, and other ad hoc decisions taken by the ITF Beach Tennis committee.

The council members are elected alongside criteria to ensure minimum representation from all five regions, different ranking categories as well as male and female players.

The elected players are as follows:

Giulia Gasparri (Italy)

Vinicius Font* (Brazil)

Alex Mingozzi* (Brazil)

Satoshi Goda* (Japan)

Alexandre Pereira (Brazil)

Chris Maguire (Great Britain)

Carolina Hannes* (USA)

Manuela Cunha (Portugal)

Jonathan Mugisha (Uganda)

*re-elected

Full results of the elections can be found here.

Ben Philip, ITF Head of Beach Tennis, said: “Consulting and working with players is a key part of our strategy to grow the sport, so I am always excited to see the results of our Player Council elections. We thank those outgoing members, welcome those newly elected and look forward to renewing our relationships with those who have been re-elected. This is an important time for the ITF Beach Tennis World Tour and I am sure we can continue to build our sport together.”
