Alastair Gray won one of two all-British finals on the ITF World Tennis Tour over the weekend to cement his position as the most successful British male in ITF tournaments this year.

On the same day as compatriots Katie Swan and Jodie Anna Burrage went toe-to-toe in the final at W60 Lexington, Gray overcame countryman Daniel Cox 3-6 6-4 7-5 on grass at M25 Nottingham for his third title of the year.

Gray is one of eight British men to win an ITF singles crown this year, along with Cox, Johannus Monday (2 titles), Arthur Fery, Toby Samuel, Oscar Weightman, Jack Pinnington-Jones and Billy Harris.

The 24-year-old’s victory over Cox, who was also a runner-up in Nottingham the previous week, was his first professional grass court title. It continues a strong summer on the surface that peaked with his first Grand Slam main draw match-win at Wimbledon in June.

The win sees the world No. 278 edge closer to the ATP's Top 250, just a year after he was ranked outside the ATP's Top 1000.

Fellow Brit Johannus Monday also won a title over the weekend, triumphing on US soil at M25 Decatur, while there was also a notable win for Estonia’s Mark Lajal.

Lajal, a former world junior No. 13 who has been likened to ATP star Denis Shapovalov (in appearance at least), won his second pro title at M15 Monastir three months after claiming his first at M15 Heraklion.
