It was a third title of the year for each of Czech Republic’s Brenda Fruhvirtova and Latvia’s Darja Seministaja on the ITF Women’s World Tennis Tour this week

Fruhvirotva, who at the age of just 15 is one of many talented Czech teenagers working their way up the women’s rankings, didn’t drop a set en route to title number three this year at W25 Klosters in Switzerland.

She defeated fellow countrywoman Barbora Palicova in the semi-finals before downing another Czech, Mihaela Bayerlova, 7-5 7-5 in the final to notch a third trophy on clay.

Nineteen-year-old Semenistaja, who made her Billie Jean King Cup debut for Latvia against Canada earlier this year, won her third title of 2022 with a 3-6 6-3 6-1 comeback win against Denmark’s Sofia Nami Samavati at W25 Ystad in Sweden.

Another player who has enjoyed her fair share of success on the World Tennis Tour this year is Selena Janicijevic. The Frenchwoman picked up her third title (her second at the W25 level) with victory at W25 Perigueux on home soil.

The other player to win last week who has won multiple titles on tour this year is Elizabeth Mandlik. The 21-year-old American, who is the daughter of former Grand Slam champion Hana Mandlikova, also picked up her third title of the year at W25 Wichita with a 6-3 6-3 win over Kayla Day.
