Fery becomes fourth Brit to win maiden ITF men's title in 2022
Arthur Fery became the fourth first-time titlist from Great Britain on the ITF World Tennis Tour this year after lifting the title at M25 Nottingham.
The 20-year-old defeated Daniel Cox 7-5 2-6 7-5 in his first pro singles final at the British grass court tournament on Sunday.
Fery joins compatriots Toby Samuel, 19, and 20-year-olds Oscar Weightman and Johannus Monday in winning milestone maiden pro singles crowns this year.
Fery is seeking to transition to the professional game following a strong junior career that saw him rank as high as No. 12 in the boys’ rankings, with five titles and a third-round finish at three of the four junior Grand Slams to his name.
He is one of eight British men to win a title on the ITF World Tennis Tour this year, along with Cox, Monday, Samuel, Weightman, Jack Pinnington-Jones, Billy Harris and Alistair Gray (2 titles).
