Double success for Brits as Parker and Jubb lift ITF titles
Great Britain could celebrate a double triumph for its home-grown players on the ITF World Tennis Tour over the weekend after victories for both Paul Jubb and Stuart Parker.
Jubb, 21, collected his third professional singles title after triumphing at M15 Sharm El Sheikh, while 23-year-old Parker won his second ITF singles crown at M15 Monastir – three weeks after claiming his first at the same venue.
Jubb defeated Latvian Martins Podzus 6-2 1-6 6-2 in the title match for his first tournament triumph since he won M15 Cancun in November 2019.
Jersey-born Parker, meanwhile, came through qualifying to beat Frenchman Alexis Gautier 3-6 7-5 6-3 in the final. He climbed to a career-high ranking of No. 627 as a result, having begun the year outside the Top 700.
Elsewhere, Frenchman Evan Furness won his eighth ITF title – and second of the year – at M25 Vale do Lobo after beating home favourite Gastao Elias 6-2 6-4 in the final of the Portuguese hard court tournament.
A week after losing in the final at M25 Naples, 26-year-old American Christian Harrison struck it second time lucky at the same venue after defeating another French player - Corentin Denolly - 6-4 6-2 in the final to secure his fifth ITF title.
Harrison’s triumph was his first tournament victory since 2017 – and the first of his career on a clay court.
Italian Raul Brancaccio, 23, won his sixth ITF title after defeating Ukrainian Oleksii Krutykh 6-4 6-4 in the M15 Antalya final.
Six men’s tournaments are taking place on the ITF World Tennis Tour this week, including another M25 event on Portuguese soil at M25 Faro. Follow all the latest action via the ITF live scores and ITF live streaming platform.
