Denmark's Moeller makes history with fifth ITF World Tennis Tour title
Elmer Moeller won his fifth ITF World Tennis Tour singles title on Saturday, and his third on clay as he won M25 Santa Margherita di Pula in Italy.
Moeller, 20, became the youngest Danish man to win five ITF World Tennis Tour singles titles by claiming his first title of the 2024 season.
The young Dane stormed to the title, dropping just one set in his five matches, all against Italian opposition, defeating Tommaso Compagnucci 6-2 6-3 in the final.
The title is Moeller’s second at M25 level, after winning in his hometown of Aarhus at M25 Risskov/Aarhus in June last year, also on clay.
He has a 9-4 win-loss record on the ITF World Tennis Tour in 2024, and competed in his fourth career ATP Challenger Tour main draw at Oeiras, Portugal, in January.
Moeller came through qualifying there before reaching the quarterifinals there, defeating world No. 285 Enrico Dalla Valle to reach the last eight, his biggest victory by ranking to date.

After claiming the title over the weekend, Moeller, who made his Davis Cup debut for Denmark in 2022, now sits at a career-high world No. 323 in the ATP Rankings.
Elsewhere, Germany’s Nicola Kuhn won his biggest title since 2019 at M25 Reus in Spain, recovering from a set down in the final against Brit Anton Matusevich, winning 5-7 7-6(2) 6-3.
Former world No. 75 Kamil Majchrzak continued his resurgence with a third singles title on the ITF World Tennis Tour in 2024, and fourth at all levels this year.
The Pole won the title at M25 Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt without dropping a set and for the loss of just 15 games across five matches, defeating Karim-Mohamed Maamoun 6-3, 6-2 in the final.
Giles Hussey recorded a third consecutive title as he won M15 Monsatir in Tunisia, extending his win-streak to 15-0.
