What a Grand Slam it is proving to be for Poland’s Maja Chwalinska with the 24-year-old now into the quarter-finals at Roland Garros following victory over former junior world No. 1 Diane Parry of France.

Having come through qualifying, reaching the last eight is Chwalinska’s best Grand Slam performance by some way having only won one main draw match before arriving in Paris – at Wimbledon in 2022.

Chwalinska has previously spoken openly about the challenging times she has had in her career, and it is wonderful to see her breaking new ground and performing so well on court.

Seven of her 10 career singles titles have been won on the ITF World Tennis Tour, which has helped propel her to this stage of her career, while she is another player to have received a Grand Slam Player Grant through the ITF-operated Grand Slam Player Development Programme.

Here are some photos from Chwalinska’s career, including some from her junior days when she was part of the Poland team, alongside Iga Swiatek, that were crowned Billie Jean King Cup Junior champions in 2016.
