Hoang rules Roehampton for first title in four years
France’s Antoine Hoang picked up a first title since 2018 with victory over Great Britain’s Giles Hussey at M25 Roehampton.
Hoang, a former Top 100 player, had previously played on the ATP Tour but started competing on the World Tennis Tour earlier this year. After a pair of semi-final finishes at M15 Eupen and M25 Aldershot earlier this month, the 26-year-old Frenchman recorded a first title for four years when he defeated Hussey 6-4 6-4.
In total, Hoang notched four wins against British players at Roehampton last week to help him jump 13 places in the rankings.
At M25 Oldenzaal, Max Houkes scored a first title after the 22-year-old Dutchman completed a perfect week with a 7-6(3) 6-2 triumph over Germany’s Jeremy Jahn.
Argentina’s Valerio Aboian continued his fine run of form with a second title of the month and a third of the season with victory over Patrik Rikl at M25 Poznan.
