Call for nominations for Brad Parks and Coach of the Year Awards

Nominations are invited for the 2023 Brad Parks Award and the 2022 Coach of the Year Award, two of the four ITF Awards presented annually to recognise individuals from the wheelchair tennis community.

Nominations for both awards must be received by ITF by Monday 3 April 2023.

Brad Parks Award

The Brad Parks Award represents the highest honour within the game of wheelchair tennis. Named after the founder of wheelchair tennis, it was first presented in 1993 and is awarded annually to a individual or organisation for outstanding contributions to the game.

The winner of the Award will be decided by the ITF Board of Directors and nominations will be judged on the following criteria:

• An individual/organisation with commitment to achieve the very highest standards of delivery;
• The individual/organisation has demonstrated a significant contribution to the sport in a number of areas, or has made an outstanding contribution in one country/area of work over a number of years;
• The individual/organisation is a respected ambassador for the sport of wheelchair tennis;
• The individual/organisation has made a significant contribution to international wheelchair tennis.

Any nomination must include details of the following:

• The impact or results of the work undertaken by the individual/organisation;
• The range of activities which the individual/organisation is involved with;
• Demonstrate the extent of the commitment shown by the individual/organisation.

The following individuals/organisations have been nominated in previous years and will remain on the nomination list (for a maximum of 3 years).

Coach of the Year Award 2022

The Coach of the Year Award is presented to a coach who is considered to have made a substantial contribution to the development of wheelchair tennis and players both nationally and internationally.

The Award is presented by the ITF Wheelchair Tennis Committee and was introduced in 2004.

The recipient of the 2021 Coach of the Year award was Amanda Hopmans (NED).
