A feast of high-quality tennis kicks-off in Mallorca on Sunday as the ITF Masters World Team Championships – the annual showpiece event for players in the 65, 70, 75, 80, and 85 and over age category – gets underway.

The 2023 ITF Masters World Team & Individual Championships kicks off on 8 October in Capdepera, Mallorca, in the flagship ITF Masters event of the year. The event concludes on Friday 13 October.

The 42nd edition of the event features a host of top players, including multiple returning world champions. The 2023 team event will see more than 400 players representing their nations at the ITF World Team Championships, with a record 167 teams battling it out for the honours.

In the women’s competition, the USA will be looking to defend their crowns in the Kitty Godfree Cup (65+), Althea Gibson Cup (70+) and Angela Mortimer Cup (85+). France will seek to keep hold of the Queen’s Cup (75+), while Germany will hope to retain the Doris Hart Cup (80+).

On the men’s side, Australia return with the victorious team that defeated USA in the 2022 Britannia Cup (65+). Spain held off the challenge of yet another USA gold medal push in the 2022 Jack Crawford Cup (70+), and will try to keep hold of the silverware this year. USA, meanwhile, will hope to go two better by clean sweeping the men's competitions. Last year, the Americans won the Bitsy Grant Cup (75+), Gardnar Mulloy Cup (80+) and the Lorne Main Cup (85+).

The ITF Masters World Individual Championships follows the team event and runs from 14-21 October.
