Sinner sidelined from Olympics due to illness
Jannik Sinner has been forced to withdraw just days ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Tennis Event after being diagnosed with tonsillitis.
The world No. 1, who was looking to make his Olympic debut on the clay courts of Roland Garros, announced on X that he had been feeling unwell while getting ready for the event.

Sinner had been due to compete in both the men's singles and in the men's doubles alongside Lorenzo Musetti.
He will be replaced in the singles event by compatriot Andrea Vavassori, the world No. 207, while Italy's doubles plans will be announced in due course.
