ITF introduces Player Mentoring Programme to boost welfare provision
As part of its Player Care Programme, the ITF has introduced a Player Mentoring Programme which supports players as they navigate the demands of professional tennis and life beyond sport.
With the launch of the Player Care Programme in October 2025, the ITF reinforced its commitment to supporting players’ mental and physical health by providing tailored resources and expert guidance to players.
The Player Care Programme is available to all players across the ITF's professional tours, including the World Tennis Tour, Wheelchair Tennis Tour and Beach Tennis Tour.
The new mentoring aspect of the programme is in partnership with the International Lawn Tennis Club and Give Learn, and means players can be matched with experienced mentors from the worlds of finance, technology and commerce.
Their mentors will provide the players with advice and guidance on relevant matters associated with their expertise and the process will provide players with a connection and perspective from outside tennis.
The duration of the mentoring programme is 12 months during which participants have access to eight one-to-one sessions with their mentor and four workshops that focus upon specific topics. The topics are: building a personal brand, commercial interests while competing on Tour, financial planning and preparing for life after tennis.
Applications to the Player Mentoring Programme can be made here. For any questions or further information about the Player Mentoring Programme or the Player Care Programme more widely, please email: player.care@itftennis.com
