The winter 2020 edition of ITFWorld, which includes a series of digital enhancements and a host of interviews, has been published and can be read here.

The latest issue features, as its cover story, an exclusive interview with Iga Swiatek in which she talks about coping with fame following her life-changing Grand Slam triumph in October, being Rafael Nadal on her PlayStation and how she hopes to unite people during the Covid-19 pandemic.

There is also a focus on the future of Swiss tennis as ITFWorld investigates whether Switzerland’s emerging talent is destined to follow in the footsteps of some of the nation’s premier Grand Slam-winning idols.

Two years ago, Hugo Gaston featured at the ITF World Tennis Tour Junior Finals in Chengdu. This year, he was one of the season’s breakthrough stars as he defeated three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka and took US Open winner Dominic Thiem to a fifth set at Roland Garros. The 20-year-old is rooted in the ITF player pathway and sits down with ITFWorld to reminisce about some standout moments in his fledgling career.

In the first of a new series, ITFWorld gets to know two players who have made their presence felt in both junior tennis and elsewhere this year. Juan Bautista Torres and Priska Madelyn Nugroho face a quickfire round of 25 questions.

Sam Schroder’s story is a compelling and captivating one. In 2018, he was fighting for his life after being diagnosed with cancer. This year, he was crowned US Open quad singles champion. It is a remarkable tale and Schroder shares his journey with ITFWorld.

ITFWorld also indulges in a spot of island hopping and joins development officer Gary Purcell as he travels around the Pacific Oceania region to discover what the participation picture looks like in nations such as Guam, Fiji and Vanuatu.

Elsewhere in the 44-page magazine, ITF president David Haggerty uses his ITFWorld welcome address to review the last 12 months and look ahead to 2021, the historic rebranding which saw Fed Cup become Billie Jean King Cup is revisited, while the launch of ITF World Tennis Number is previewed.
