Haggerty heads to the pool to present Olympic swimming medals
ITF president and IOC member David Haggerty took a brief break from the thrills and spills of the Olympic Tennis Event at Paris 2024 on Wednesday to attend the swimming event.
He presented the women’s 400m Freestyle medals, including a gold to Australia’s Ariarne Titmus.
Haggerty will be back in front of the podium on Saturday when he presents the women’s singles medals at the tennis event at Roland Garros stadium. In a surprise to many, he won't be hanging a gold medal around world No. 1 Iga Swiatek's neck after the Pole's 25-match winning streak at Roland Garros stadium was ended by China's Zheng Qinwen in the semi-finals on Thursday.
Donna Vekic and Anna Karolina Schmiedlova will bid to join her in the final when they close Thursday's evening session on Philippe Chatrier court.
