The spring 2021 edition of ITFWorld has been published and can be read here.

The latest issue is packed with exclusive content and interviews, with Canada’s Leylah Annie Fernandez, Nadia Podoroska of Argentina and Mexico’s Renata Zarazua previewing the Billie Jean King Cup by BNP Paribas Play-offs – the first ties since the competition’s rebrand.

With the rescheduled Paralympic Games only months away, Japan’s Shingo Kunieda takes time out to chat with ITFWorld and contemplates success on home soil and exorcising the ghost of Rio de Janeiro.

Earlier this year, Sebastian Korda became the latest of an exclusive group and followed his father into the top 100. He discusses the inevitable scrutiny as ITFWorld keeps up with the Kordas, while other players with famous parents consider the pressure of their surname.

In the latest in the Get to Know series, ITFWorld learns more about two highly rated players. Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti and Oksana Selekhmeteva of Russia are the latest to go under the spotlight and face a quickfire round of 25 questions.

Alexandra Eala of the Philippines is one of 15 players to receive an International Junior Player Grant from the ITF in 2021. ITFWorld catches up with the talented teenager about her first professional title and that Instagram post from Rafael Nadal.

In addition, ITFWorld takes a trip around Central America, with Development Officer Cecilia Ancalmo acting as a guide for readers. Cecilia traverses the region and discusses the development of tennis in each of the 10 ITF member nations there.

It has been quite a journey for Marie Pinterova, who recently brought down the curtain on her competitive career after 62 years on court. ITFWorld sits down with her as she recalls some of the highlights.

Elsewhere in the 46-page magazine, ITF president David Haggerty uses his welcome address to look ahead to the remainder of the year, both personally and professionally.

There is also a preview of the upcoming Level the Playing Field forum, which forms part of the ITF’s Advantage All gender equality strategy, while the progress of the ITF World Tennis Number rollout is charted.
