Asia/Oceania has provided the latest nations to reach the 2023 Billie Jean King Cup Juniors by Gainbridge and Davis Cup Juniors Finals following final qualifying in Shymkent, Kazakhstan.

In Billie Jean King Cup Juniors, Japan were crowned regional champions following a standout week and will take their place at the Finals, which will take place in Cordoba, Spain later in year, while Kazakhstan and Australia have also qualified.

Japan have come close to claiming their first Billie Jean King Cup Juniors title in recent years, finishing third at the 2022 Finals in Antalya, Türkiye having been runners-up in 2021.

Kazakhstan, meanwhile, are captained by two-time Grand Slam doubles champion Yaroslava Shvedova, meaning the 35-year-old has led her nation to their respective Billie Jean King Cup Finals at both senior and junior level.

They now have the chance to compete with the best national teams in the world in the 16-and-under age category, with this the first time in history that Kazakhstan will send a team to the Billie Jean King Cup Juniors Finals

Japan regularly feature at the Finals in both competitions and, once again, have also qualified for the Davis Cup Juniors Finals, with the two-time champions topping the final qualifying podium in Davis Cup Juniors.

They defeated Korea, Rep. in the final showdown in Shymkent to take the regional honours, although Korea, Rep. will also travel to Cordoba for the Finals, as will Kazakhstan and Thailand.

As with their girls in the Billie Jean King Cup Juniors, it is the first time that Kazakhstan’s boys have reached the Davis Cup Juniors Finals, while Thailand's boys will compete at the Finals for the first time since 2011.
