World Tennis launches 2026 Photograph of the Year competition
World Tennis has today launched the 2026 World Tennis Photograph of the Year competition, inviting photographers from around the world to capture and share the moments that make tennis such a compelling global sport.
To mark World Photography Day, the competition is open to professional, amateur and recreational photographers, celebrating tennis in all its forms - from the biggest stages and most dramatic moments to grassroots, community and recreational tennis, and the people and stories that make the sport what it is.
Entrants can submit up to three photographs, all of which must have been taken during 2026 and depict tennis activity.

The winning photographer will receive a $3,000 USD first prize, with $1,000 awarded for second place and $500 for third.
The competition follows the success of the 2025 edition, which attracted entries from around the world. Australian photographer Ray Giubilo took the top prize for his striking image of Jasmine Paolini at the US Open, while France’s Loïc Wacziak and China’s Zhong Zhi finished second and third respectively.
A judging panel featuring World Tennis President David Haggerty, renowned tennis photographer Paul Zimmer, and two-time Grand Slam champion Garbiñe Muguruza will select the winner, runners-up, and shortlist.
David Haggerty, World Tennis President, said: “The first two editions of this competition have shown us just how powerful a single photograph can be in telling the story of our sport. From Ray Giubilo’s striking winning image of Jasmine Paolini at the US Open last year to photographs capturing the emotion, energy and diversity of tennis around the world, the entries have reflected the many different ways our sport is played and experienced.
“That is what makes this competition so special. As World Tennis, we want to celebrate tennis in all its forms and the people who help bring those stories to life through their photography. We look forward to seeing how photographers, from professionals to passionate tennis fans, capture the moments that make 2026 memorable.”

Garbiñe Muguruza, two-time Grand Slam champion and member of the judging panel, said: “After three years on the jury, I still find it fascinating to see tennis through the eyes of photographers from around the world. As players, we experience the emotion of a match from the inside, but a photograph can reveal a completely different side of that moment - sometimes something you didn’t even notice while you were on court.
“What makes this competition particularly special is the range of perspectives it brings together, from established professionals to photographers who simply share a passion for the game. Choosing the winning image is never easy, but it’s a wonderful experience to revisit so many memorable moments from the year and celebrate the unique way each photographer captures them.”
The competition offers photographers an opportunity to showcase the breadth of tennis around the world and the creativity of those who capture it, from the professional game through to grassroots and community tennis.
The deadline for submissions is 12:00 GMT on Monday 7 December 2026. Full details of how to enter are available here.
The winning photograph, runners-up and shortlisted images will be announced following the close of the competition
