Line-up for 2023 ITF World Junior Tennis Finals almost complete
The line-up for the 2023 ITF World Junior Tennis Finals – the ITF’s flagship team competition in the 14-and-under age category – is almost complete after the latest rounds of qualifying in Africa and South America.
During qualifying in Africa, which took place in Egyptian capital city Cairo, Morocco advanced to the Finals in the boys’ draw while hosts Egypt and Morocco progressed in the girls’ competition.
In South America qualifying, the boys of Brazil, Peru and Colombia will take their place among the world’s best teams in this age category, with Paraguay, Brazil and Argentina doing likewise in the girls’ draw.
The 2023 ITF World Junior Tennis Finals will take place in Prostejov, Czech Republic from 7-12 August, with 11 of the 16 places in each draw now determined following qualifying in the Africa, North/Central America and Caribbean, Asia/Oceania and South America regions. The final region to stage qualifying is Europe, which will take place from 7-9 July.
The likes of Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Iga Swiatek, Nick Kyrgios, Marketa Vondrousova and Coco Gauff are just a few names to have competed at the Finals in recent times, reflecting the importance of the competition in terms of player development.
