Great Britain's Miyazaki claims second W75 title of impressive season
Great Britain’s Yuriko Lily Miyazaki continued her impressive season by claiming victory at W75 Croissy-Beaubourg and rising to a career-high No. 138 in the WTA Rankings.
France has been a happy hunting ground for the 28-year-old with success at Croissy-Beaubourg coming hot on the heels of her triumph at Andrezieux-Boutheon in early February.
Her two title wins this season have both been at W75 level – the second-highest classification of ITF World Tennis Tour event behind W100s – and represent the best victories of her career.
All eight of Miyazaki’s ITF World Tennis Tour title wins, dating back to 2019, have come on a hard court, while her latest was sealed courtesy of a 6-4 7-5 success over Germany’s Mona Barthel in the final.

Her most troublesome matches were her first and second round showdowns against Latvia’s Diana Marcinkevica and Valentina Ryser of Switzerland respectively. In both, Miyazaki was forced to recover from a one-set deficit.
Miyazaki, who was born in Japan before moving to Great Britain with her parents at the age of 10, now occupies a career-high WTA Ranking and has the Top 100 firmly in her sights.
While a place in the main draw of Roland Garros remains a possibility – she would need to be ranked inside the top 104 by the ranking cut-off of Monday 15 April – a place in qualifying is potentially more realistic.
However, Miyazaki has fond memories of qualifying having navigated her way through to the main draw at the 2023 US Open before losing to Switzerland’s Belinda Bencic in the second round.
What is for certain, Miyazaki’s season continues to go from strength to strength.
