Entries announced for 2022 Wheelchair Tennis Masters events
The International Tennis Federation has announced the entries for the 2022 NEC Wheelchair Singles Masters and ITF Wheelchair Doubles Masters.
The ITF's year-end wheelchair tennis championships on the UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tour take place on 30 October - 6 November at the Rusheuvel Sports Centre (Sportcentrum De Rusheuvel) in Oss, with the KNLTB hosting both events simultaneously in Netherlands for the first time since 2002.
The NEC Wheelchair Singles Masters, which was first held in 1994, is the ITF year-end championship for the world’s top eight men’s, women’s and quad singles players. A total of 24 of the world’s top singles players will contest the year-end championship.
While NEC has been title sponsor of the prestigious event since its inception in 1994, 2021 marked 30 years of NEC's sponsorship of ITF wheelchair tennis activities.
The ITF Wheelchair Doubles Masters is the ITF’s flagship wheelchair tennis doubles event. First staged in 2000, the season-ending event features the world’s top eight men’s doubles partnerships, top six women’s doubles partnerships and top four quad doubles partnerships.
Entries for the 2022 NEC Wheelchair Singles Masters and ITF Wheelchair Doubles Masters are based on the UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Rankings at the entry cut-off date of 12 September, with 38 players from 15 countries lining up to compete for the titles across both events.
