Canada names five-strong Olympic tennis team for Paris 2024
Canada has named a five-strong team for the Paris 2024 Olympic Tennis Event, taking place on 27 July – 4 August.
World No. 30 Leylah Fernandez and former US Open champion Bianca Andreescu, who enters on a WTA special ranking of No. 64, lead the line for the Canadians in the women’s singles event, with doubles world No. 4 Gabriella Dabrowski completing their women’s entries.
World No. 17 Felix Auger-Aliassime and Milos Raonic, who is eligible via his ATP protected ranking of No. 33, will represent the Canadians in the men’s event.
Andreescu is the only one of the five due to make her Olympic debut at Paris 2024.
Dabrowski is the most experienced, having competed in the doubles event at both Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020, while Fernandez and Auger-Aliassime, who both competed in Tokyo, and Milos Raonic, whose lone Games appearance came at London 2012, are each set to play in their second Olympic Tennis Event.

All four will be hoping to build on their past showings at the Games, having failed to progress beyond the second round.
Raonic might have had the most memorable Games experience, having lost an epic deciding set to Jo-Wilfried Tsonga at London 2012 that ultimately finished 25-23 in the Frenchman’s favour.
Dabrowski and Fernandez are set to pair up in the women’s doubles event in Paris next month, while Auger-Aliassime and Raonic will combine as a pair in the men’s doubles.
The ITF will announce the full entry list on 4 July here, with mixed doubles entries to follow on 24 July.
