Shingo Kunieda is the most successful men's singles wheelchair tennis player at Roland Garros, winning seven titles in 2007-2010, 2014, 2015 and 2018.

Esther Vergeer remained unbeaten in the women's singles at Roland Garros from 2007- 2012, winning six successive titles before announcing her retirement. In her six Roland Garros campaigns, Vergeer also won the women's doubles title five times.
