Tensions were running high in Latvia as players fought for a place in Sunday’s finals. In the men’s event Christoph Wilke came back from 4-1 down in the final set to put Germany ahead against Austria, before Anthony Dittmar (GER) beat Nico Langmann, giving Germany the victory over the No.1 seeded team.

Stefan Olsson continued his golden run, with Sweden's men's semi-final against Italy coming down to the doubles yet again. Hampus linder-Olofsson and Olsson teamed up once again to win the deciding doubles 6-1 6-0.

Germany and Sweden will now play in the men’s final on court 8 on Sunday.

In the women's semi-finals, Switzerland raced to victory against Latvia and will face Austria once again in the final, the contest being a rerun of their pool match, after Austria defeated Turkiye 2-1.

Despite Germany’s marathon doubles match in the quad event on Friday, there was no sign of fatigue as they beat France 2-1 to reach the quad final, with twin brothers Marcus and Maximillian Laudan taking the doubles decider 6-0 6-0.

Germany will now play top seeds Great Britain in the quad final after the Brits beat Turkey 2-0 in their semi-final.

Day 3 - 15 March

Former Grand Slam champion Stefan Olsson returned to the court once again in the final set of round-robin Group stage ties in the men’s event, in an enthralling encounter between Sweden and Belgium.

Olsson won his singles, before fellow Grand Slam champion Joachim Gerard comfortably levelled the tie at 1-1, leaving the semi-final spot to be determined by the deciding doubles.

Belgium quickly went to a 6-1 lead, before Olsson and Hampus Linder-Ologsson found their rhythm to win the second set 7-6. Momentum remained with Sweden, who then took the match tie-break 10-0, securing their place against Italy in the semi-finals. Austria and Germany will battle out the other semi-final on Saturday's penultimate day of play in Latvia.

Switzerland and Turkiye raced to victories in the women’s event over Austria and Latvia, respectively, to top their pools.

The contest of the day, however, was the quad tie between Turkiye and Germany. Two three set matches in the singles meant it was all to play for in the doubles and it was finally the No. 3 seed Germany who defeated No. 2 seed Turkiye in the deciding doubles, thanks to the combined efforts of twins Marcus and Maximillian Laudan. That leaves Turkiye to face Great Britain and Germany to play France in the quad semi-finals.
