Zarazua claims first title of the season at W100 Macon

20 Oct 2025

Renata Zarazua continued her strong season on Sunday, picking up her first title of the year at W100 Macon after defeating Anna Rogers 6-2 6-1 in the final.

Despite having impressive moments in 2025 - which includes a run to the W100 Madrid final and a stunning upset over Madison Keys in the US Open first round - Zarazua's title drought only ended last weekend.

The 28-year-old Mexican was not to be denied at Macon, and she found an exceptional level to win the title without dropping a set and did not concede more than three games in a set.

Zarazua won four titles last season - including a W75, W100 and two WTA 125Ks - which saw her reach as high as world No. 51 in the WTA rankings.

Though it has not been as successful a season as some may have expected, there has been plenty to cheer about, all while remaining inside the top 100.

Now with 10 career titles to her name (six on hard courts and four on clay), it would not be a surprise to see Zarazua have a strong end to 2025.

Elsewhere, Darja Semenistaja won her first title at W100 level and the 18th of her career at W100 Les Franqueses del Valles, defeating Linda Klimovicova 7-5 7-6 in the final.

The Latvian 23-year-old is quickly putting together an impressive resume with 16 ITF World Tennis Tour titles and two wins at WTA 125K level.
