It was fantastic to see the record-breaking figures released by the United States Tennis Association regarding tennis participation across the United States.

🎾 Participation increased by 1.6m in 2025 to a new high of 27.3m
🎾 Since 2019, participation up by 54% adding nearly 10m players
🎾 4.9m players picked up a racket for the first time in 2025 – up 9%
🎾 1.1m more women took to the court in 2025 than 2024
🎾 Black/African Americans playing tennis up by more than 450,000 (14%)
🎾 Hispanic/Latino players up by more than 550,000 (12%)
🎾 Asian/Pacific Islander players up by more than 260,000 (10%)

The 2024 ITF Global Tennis Report revealed there are more than 106 million people playing tennis around the world and the ITF's aim is to continue increasing participation across all ages, genders, playing standards and physical abilities.

These figures underline the appeal and popularity of tennis and feed into the ITF's ambitions to grow the game from the ground up – from grassroots participation to talent development and competition, all the way to the Olympics and Paralympics.

By driving tennis forward, we are sustaining the sport and improving the game for future generations, while the health benefits of tennis, both from a physical and mental perspective, are well-documented.
