The year that was: 2025 ITF Beach Tennis World Tour in numbers
The ITF Beach Tennis World Tour achieved record levels of participation in 2025, with 554 tournaments taking place – an increase from 497 in 2024.
Of the 554 tournaments, 509 were professional and 45 junior. Tournaments have been held in 35 nations, including Hong Kong, China who joined the calendar in 2025. The 2025 season also saw the return of several nations – US Virgin Islands, Lithuania, Martinique and Austria – to the Beach Tennis calendar.
More than 5,700 players will have competed on the Beach Tennis World Tour in 2025.
2025 highlights:
- Total prize money across the Tour has exceeded $2m USD for the first time, with $2,319,500 on offer.
- Introduction of mixed doubles events for BT200 tournaments and above, which has contributed an additional $50,500 to the Tour's total prize money.
- Launch of the Sand Series Tour Finals Team Race. This led to recognition for the No. 1 season-ending team and coach for the first time.
- Creation of the New Wave invitational event held in conjunction with the Sand Series Tour Finals for players aged 17 to 20. The event featured highly ranked players within these age groups from both the junior and pro rankings.

Who won what?
Using the new Tour Final Race Rankings, France’s Nicolas Gianotti and Italy’s Mattia Spoto finished 2025 as the men’s world No.1 team. Italy’s Giulia Gasparri and Ninny Valentini were crowned the women’s world No.1 team.
Nicolas Gianotti and Mattia Spoto won eight titles together, including the ITF Beach Tennis World Championships, Sand Series Tour Finals, Sand Series Matosinhos, Sand Series Brasilia, BT400 Viamão, BT400 Rio de Janeiro, BT400 Balneário Camboriú, and BT400 Cuiabá. This run of consistency kept them on top of the Race throughout the season.
Giulia Gasparri and Ninny Valentini won nine titles together: Sand Series Matosinhos, Sand Series Gran Canaria Classic, Sand Series Reunion Classic, Sand Series São Paulo, BT400 Viamão, BT400 Rio de Janeiro, BT400 Balneário Camboriú, BT400 Cuiabá and BT400 Matinhos.
Special recognition must go to Sophia Chow and Vitória Marchezini, who concluded the season as champions of the Sand Series Tour Finals. The pair enjoyed an outstanding year, capturing eight titles in 2025 and finishing the season ranked as the world No. 2 team.
Elizaveta Kudinova and Anastasiia Semenova, meanwhile, emerged as the breakthrough team of the season, highlighted by their victory at the ITF Beach Tennis World Championships in Italy. Their consistent performances throughout the year saw them conclude 2025 ranked as the world No. 3 team.
