The ranking cut-off date for the Olympic Tennis Event is looming large on 10 June, and there's still quite a race in store for those players looking to secure a spot in the German team.
Here's a run down of the German players who could confirm their spot at Paris 2024 before the deadline, which follows the conclusion of the Grand Slam event at Roland Garros.

Alexander Zverev
- The Tokyo 2020 champion is hoping to defend his Olympic crown at Paris 2024
- Zverev has an 8-1 record at the Games, having won the singles event and reached the quarter-finals of the doubles alongside Jan-Lennard Struff in Tokyo
- Zverev finished runner-up at the 2020 US Open but has yet to reach a main draw title match at Roland Garros, falling in three straight semi-finals from 2021-2023
- He has quite the test in his first of two visits to Roland Garros this summer - an opening round clash against Rafael Nadal
Jan-Lennard Struff
- Struff is looking to take part in his third consecutive Olympics at Paris 2024
- The big-hitting 34-year-old fell in the 1st round at Rio 2016 and ran into Novak Djokovic in the 2nd round at Tokyo 2020, where he also partnered Zverev to the last eight in doubles
- Struff has achieved his career-best Grand Slam results at Roland Garros, reaching the round of 16 in both 2019 and 2021, but fell in the 1st round there last year
Dominik Koepfer
- Koepfer has an eye on his second Olympic appearance at Paris 2024
- The 30-year-old played at Tokyo 2020, falling to eventual bronze-medallist Pablo Carreno Busta in the 3rd round
- His hopes of qualifying for Paris 2024 suffered a blow after he slipped 15 spots in the ATP rankings this week and needs a good Roland Garros to put himself back in contention
- Koepfer’s best Roland Garros result is reaching the third round in 2021 – his last main draw appearance
Daniel Altmaier
- Altmaier faces an uphill task to qualify for his maiden Olympic Games
- The 25-year-old is outside the likely direct acceptance cut-off and has points to defend at next week’s Roland Garros
- He reached the 3rd round on the Parisian clay last year – his best result there since he made the round of 16 on his Grand Slam debut in 2016

Tatjana Maria
- Maria is looking to qualify for Paris 2024 and make her Olympic debut at the age of 36
- Maria favours grass and hard courts but has won two WTA titles on clay – in Bogota in 2022 and 2023
- Though she is a Grand Slam semi-finalist (at 2022 Wimbledon), Maria has not won a match at Roland Garros since 2017 so could struggle to boost her ranking over the coming weeks
Tamara Korpatsch
- Korpatsch is looking to make a late charge towards Paris 2024
- She has never contested an Olympic Games, but has put herself on the cusp of the opportunity after rising into the world’s Top 80 over the past year
- Korpatsch could seal a place at Paris 2024 with a strong performance at Roland Garros, though she fell in the 1st round on her only previous main draw appearance there in 2020
Laura Siegemund
- Siegemund has plenty of work to do to raise her ranking if she is to qualify for an Olympic Games for a third time
- The 36-year-old competed at both Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020
- She achieved her best Grand Slam result at Roland Garros in 2020 with a run to the quarter-finals, but hasn’t been beyond the 1st round since then
Jule Niemeier
- Niemeier will need a late ranking surge if she is going to win an Olympic place for the first time
- The 24-year-old burst on to the scene with a quarter-final run at Wimbledon in 2022, but has yet to go beyond the 1st round at Roland Garros
- Niemeier is proficient on clay, having won all five of her professional singles titles on the surface
- She qualified for Roland Garros for a second time at this year's event
Angelique Kerber
- Kerber returned to the tour this January after maternity leave with an eye on competing at the Olympic Tennis Event
- The 36-year-old competed at both London 2012 and Rio 2016, winning a silver medal in singles at the latter event
- Though currently ranked too low for direct entry (unless she makes use of a protected ranking), the 3-time Grand Slam champion could be in line to claim one of two ITF Places available for each singles draw at Paris 2024 for Grand Slam and Olympic champions
