Team tennis takes centre stage in November to Remember

With no fewer than five season-ending events taking place this month, the International Tennis Federation is celebrating what will surely be a November to Remember. 

Team tennis very much takes pride of place in the calendar for men, women, juniors and beach tennis, but this month will also see the very best wheelchair tennis players crowned singles and doubles champions at the Masters.

Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge Finals – Glasgow, Scotland 8-13 November 

The second edition of the women’s world cup of tennis sees the best female tennis players descending on Glasgow in Scotland as they fight for the right to be world champions. Hosts Great Britain will be joined by the likes of 18-time champions USA, the most dominant team in recent years Czech Republic and last year’s runners-up Switzerland to name just a few of the teams on show.

Davis Cup by Rakuten Finals – Malaga, Spain 22-27 November 

World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz will be looking to help hosts Spain win a seventh Davis Cup title when the men’s world cup of tennis is decided in Malaga at the end of the month. 

This year sees the first Final 8 format for the competition and there is a mouth-watering line-up in southern Spain. Italy will take on USA in possibly the pick of the quarter-final match-ups, with other ties including Germany v Canada, Australia v Netherlands and Croatia v Spain.

Davis Cup Juniors and Billie Jean King Cup Juniors by BNP Paribas Finals – Antalya, Turkey 1-6 November 

The Club Megasaray Tennis Academy in Antalya welcomes a total of 32 teams – 16 in each competition – to battle for the glory and prestige of topping their respective podiums and being crowned junior world champions in the 16-and-under age category.

NEC Wheelchair Tennis Singles Masters and ITF Wheelchair Tennis Doubles Masters – Oss, Netherlands 30 October-6 November 

The very best wheelchair tennis players in the women’s, men’s and quad divisions will compete for Masters titles in both singles and doubles this November. 

Hosts Netherlands will feature strongly across all three categories but perhaps more so in the women’s and quad categories, where they have both world No. 1s Diede de Groot and Niels Vink. Britain’s Alfie Hewett goes into the men’s event as the top-ranked player. 

There will be a live stream from Centre Court in Oss on the ITF’s social media channels and live scores available on the ITF website. 

ITF Beach Tennis World Cup – Rio de Janeiro, 8-13 November 

All eyes will be on Copacabana Beach later this month as 16 nations compete to win the ITF Beach Tennis World Cup. 

The event, which was formerly known as the Beach Tennis World Team Championship, is a mixed competition in which nations compete against each other as a team. Each team is comprised of two men and two women with ties consisting of a men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and a mixed doubles match.
