Tagger wins biggest title yet at W75 Bucharest

15 Sep 2025

Lilli Tagger claimed her second professional title and the biggest of her career at W75 Bucharest on Sunday, defeating Lina Gjorcheska 6-4 3-6 6-4 in the final.

The 17-year-old, who won Junior Roland Garros this year, has been quick to impress on the World Tennis Tour

Tagger won her first title at W35 Terrasa in March, and has followed this up with impressive runs to the W75 Amstetten final as well as the semi-finals at W75 Vienna in recent weeks.

Her first title at W75 level is a clear sign of the rapid progression that she is making and this is being reflected in her ranking.

As of this week, Tagger is up to a new career-high of 271 in the WTA rankings - and it will not be surprising if she is knocking on the door of the top 200 soon.

Elsewhere, Greet Minnen won her second title of the season at W75 Le Neubourg - triumphing over Petra Marcinko 6-2 6-1 in the final.

The Belgian 28-year-old has now won 13 titles in her career, with her first win outside the World Tennis Tour coming at WTA Birmingham 125 in June.
