Standout numbers: Djokovic wins 10th Australian Open and 22nd Slam
Novak Djokovic’s latest remarkable campaign at the Australian Open took in a whole lot more than the 2023 title at Melbourne Park.

1 – After beating Stefanos Tsitsipas in the Greek’s first Australian Open - and second Grand Slam - final, Djokovic returned to world No. 1 on Monday, beginning a record 374th week on top of the world
16 – Djokovic and Rafael Nadal continue their Grand Slam duopoly, having between them won 16 of the last 19 Grand Slam titles available (Djokovic has won 10 Grand Slams, and Nadal six since 2018 Roland Garros)
10 – Djokovic has won 10 Australian open titles – becoming the second man in history to win at least 10 titles at any Grand Slam event (after Nadal, a 14-time Roland Garros champion).
22 – Djokovic equalled Nadal’s all-time record for most Grand Slam men’s singles titles. The pair trail only Margaret Court (24 Grand Slams) and Serena Williams (23) overall.
28 – Djokovic now hold’s the longest men’s winning-streak at the Australian Open, winning 28 straight matches in Melbourne since the 2019 first round. The Serb’s former coach, Andre Agassi, sits in second place, with 26.
35 – Aged 35 years 252 days, Djokovic is the third oldest man in the Open Era to win the Australian Open title after Ken Rosewall (who won aged 36 and 37) and Roger Federer (36 years 173 days).
2,975,000 – The winner’s cheque (in Australian dollars), and Djokovic’s share of a total pool of $26,907,000 (AUD) distributed through the men’s singles draw.
