Anna Siskova began 2021 in the best possible style after winning the first ITF women’s singles and doubles titles on offer in the new year at W15 Monastir.

The 19-year-old Czech, who won her first title on the ITF World Tennis Tour in February last year at W15 Palmanova, collected her second career singles crown and a fifth in doubles at the Tunisian tournament.

Siskova defeated 16-year-old Amelie Van Impe 0-6 6-4 7-6(3) in the singles final before partnering Algerian Ines Ibbou to a 6-3 6-1 victory over Swiss-Serbian duo Fiona Ganz and Elena Gemovic in the women’s final.

Despite Van Impe’s defeat, it was a milestone week for the Belgian youngster who reached the final in her first professional appearance. She will remain in Monastir this week as she looks to build on an excellent start to her ITF career.

Siskova, meanwhile, returns to the career-high ranking of 545 she achieved on 21 December.

Three women’s tournaments are taking place on the ITF World Tennis Tour this week – including another W15 event in Monastir, plus W15 Cairo and W15 Antalya.
