Sawangkaew wins biggest title yet W75 Nonthaburi

12 Jan 2026

Mananchaya Sawangkaew kicked off the 2026 season in style on Sunday - claiming the title at W75 Nonthaburi without dropping a set.

The 23-year-old from Thailand defeated Lisa Pigato 6-1 6-4 in the final to win her biggest title yet.

Sawangkaew has now won four ITF World Tennis Tour titles - all of which have come on home soil.

She put together a strong season in 2025 - reaching the final at WTA Mumbai 125 in February and W100 Gifu in May - resulting in her reaching the top 100 for the first time in June.

She has been quick to build on a positive year already, and it will only get better at next week's Australian Open where she will make her Grand Slam main draw debut.

As a result, she will become the first Thai player to compete in the women’s singles main draw at a Grand Slam since 2019 Wimbledon.

Sawangkaew is now back inside the top 200 in the WTA rankings and will no doubt look to ascend to her previous career-high and go beyond as the season develops.
