Sakatsume wins biggest career title at W100 Takasaki
Himeno Sakatsume won the biggest title of her career on Sunday at W100 Takasaki, defeating Yeonwoo Ku 6-3 1-6 6-4 in the final.
The Japanese 24-year-old was in impressive form all week - picking up straight set wins in every match until the final - including over the likes of Lanlana Tararudee.
This was Sakatsume's second title of the season and eighth overall on the ITF World Tennis Tour.
Her latest victory signifies a notable step up in her career having won multiple titles in a season for the first time since 2021, where she won two W15s.
Sakatsume is now up to a new career-high of world No. 155 after Sunday's triumph - and will no doubt look to carry this positive momentum for the rest of the year and into the 2026 season.
