Record prize fund for 2025 ITF Beach Tennis World Championships
The 2025 ITF Beach Tennis World Championships will return to Cesenatico, Italy on 1-7 September (main draw from 3 September), marking the third consecutive year the city has staged the sport’s flagship event.
The Championships will feature a record prize fund of $75,000, up from $50,000 in 2024, and will again award 1,000 rankings points to the winners, the highest total on the ITF Beach Tennis calendar.
In women’s doubles, Patricia Diaz (VEN) and Rafaella Miiller (BRA) will aim to defend their title. In the men’s event, last year’s champions Andre Baran (BRA) and Michele Cappelletti (ITA) will return to the competition with new partners.
Staged annually since 2009, the ITF Beach Tennis World Championships are recognised as the most prestigious annual tournament on the beach tennis calendar, attracting the strongest international field of players across the globe.
The competition programme includes men’s and women’s doubles, mixed doubles and juniors – boys and girls doubles, and junior mixed doubles. Winners of the Under-18 categories will also qualify for the forthcoming Next Wave competition, which provides a pathway for rising talent.
The 2025 edition will also play a significant role in the Race to Brasília, the new team-based qualification system launched this season. Results in Cesenatico, alongside those from BT400 and ITF Sand Series tournaments, will determine which doubles teams finish in the top eight of the Race rankings and qualify for the season-ending Tour Finals in Brazil.
Coverage of the 2025 ITF Beach Tennis World Championships will be streamed live (from Wednesday 3 September) on the ITF’s official platform. Click here for the main draw, results and live scoring, available via the ITF website.
"The ITF Beach Tennis World Championships represent the pinnacle of the sport and continue to grow in scale and significance," said ITF President David Haggerty.
"We would like to thank the Italian Tennis and Padel Federation for hosting this event once again in Cesenatico, along with all the staff involved, for their continued support in helping grow beach tennis globally.
"With increased prize money, the highest-ranking points on offer, and a key role in the new Race to Brasília, the 2025 edition will bring together the very best players from around the world and deliver the highest level of competition.
"It will also highlight the sport’s rising stars, giving young players the opportunity to compete at the top level and signalling a new era for beach tennis."
Angelo Binaghi, President of Italian Tennis and Padel Federation, added: "Cesenatico will become the home of world beach tennis in the coming days. On the shores of the Adriatic Sea, there will be a unique atmosphere, where the passion of the public will meet the talent of the best players on the planet.
"Our country's sporting tradition blends with the spectacle of a young, dynamic and ever-growing discipline. With these World Championships, we want to offer fans not only an event of the highest technical level, but also an opportunity to celebrate the authentic values of sport and the extraordinary ability of the Romagna Riviera to welcome, engage and excite.
"Thanks to this synergy between athletes, institutions and the local area, Italy continues to be a benchmark for the entire international beach tennis movement.
"I would like to thank the institutions and organisations that have made this event possible, as well as the organisers for their passionate and high-quality work. I wish all the players, teams and fans unforgettable days of sport, excitement and entertainment."
