Qualification complete for 2026 BJKC and Davis Cup Junior Finals

Following a fortnight of scintillating Davis Cup by Generali and Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge action, the World Cup of Tennis spotlight is now set to focus upon the junior equivalents of those competitions.

Qualification campaigns have taken place across the globe and the line-ups for the 2026 Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge Junior Finals and Davis Cup Junior Finals can be confirmed.

At the Finals, 16 boys’ teams and 16 girls’ teams will compete to be crowned champions in the 16-and-under age category. Here are the nations to have qualified:

The Billie Jean King Cup and Davis Cup Junior Finals are the pinnacle of team competition for tennis players aged 16 and under and this year the Finals are being hosted in Cairo, Egypt.

It will be the first time the competition, which is scheduled for 2-8 November at the Smash Sporting Club, is held in Africa.

Over the past decade, Hungary, the United States, Turkey, Spain and Chile have staged the iconic event, with Chile hosting most recently at Santiago’s Estadio Nacional.

This year's Finals will be contested as four round-robin groups of four teams over the first three days of play, followed by a rest day, then the knockout stages over the final three days.

Two players who competed in the 2025 Finals have enjoyed major success this year. Ksenia Efremova, who was a runner-up with France, won the Australian Open girls’ singles title, while the USA’s Davis Cup Junior champion Jordan Lee was crowned Wimbledon boys’ singles champion.

Previous winning teams have featured players who have gone on to excel at the top of the game including Rafael Nadal (Spain, 2002), Ashleigh Barty (Australia, 2011), Felix Auger-Aliassime and Denis Shapovalov (Canada, 2015), Iga Swiatek (Poland, 2016), Carlos Alcaraz (Spain, 2018), Coco Gauff (USA, 2018) and Joao Fonseca (Brazil, 2022). 

This competition is an important milestone on the World Tennis player pathway.
