Preview: 2025 ITF World Coaches Conference
The global tennis coaching community comes together in Vilnius, Lithuania, this week for the 24th ITF World Coaches Conference, which takes place from 29-31 October 2025 at the SEB Arena.
Hosted in collaboration with the Lithuanian Tennis Union and Tennis Europe, the biennial event is the flagship gathering of the ITF’s Coach Education Programme - a celebration of innovation, collaboration and the future of coaching.
With over 550 registrants from 106 nations, the event stands as the sport’s leading international forum for learning, sharing and advancing the game. The schedule for the conference can be viewed here.
This year’s conference also marks a positive step forward in diversity. The event features 92 speakers from around the world, including keynote presenters and workshop leaders, with women making up roughly a third of the overall line-up.
Gender representation is almost equal among the 25 keynote speakers, featuring 12 women and 13 men, reflecting the ITF’s commitment to inclusive leadership in tennis coaching.
Celebrating progress in gender equality within tennis, and supported by the ITF Advantage All programme, the latest ITF Global Tennis Report shows that the total female playing population has grown by 8.3%, while the proportion of women coaches increased from 20.6% in 2019 to 24.3% in 2024. Women officials now make up 31% of the officiating workforce.
Under the theme Future Trends in Tennis: Preparing Today for Tomorrow’s Game, the 2025 ITF World Coaches Conference will explore the technologies and trends shaping the next era of player development.
Across three days of expert presentations, on-court demonstrations and interactive workshops, delegates will gain insights from some of the sport’s most respected figures in coaching, performance, and sport science.
Among the highlights of this year’s programme is Tathiana Garbin, Italy's Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge captain, who has played a pivotal role in her nation's resurgence on the world stage.
On Wednesday, Garbin will take part in a roundtable discussion showcasing women in tennis, while on Thursday she will deliver a keynote session on the Italian tennis system and player pathway.
Her remarkable coaching journey includes leading Italy to back-to-back Billie Jean King Cup titles in 2024 and 2025. Garbin’s leadership and resilient approach have made her one of the most respected figures in international tennis coaching.
Joining Garbin are a host of leading international experts and former professionals, including Roberta Burzagli, former Billie Jean King Cup Captain for Brazil, Jacco Eltingh, a former world No. 1 doubles player and Davis Cup captain for Netherlands and Ales Filipcic, Slovenia’s first Davis Cup captain and long-time coach to ATP, WTA and ITF players.
They will be joined by leading figures in sports medicine, performance analysis and tennis innovation, as well as ITF leadership, in providing diverse and inspiring perspectives on coaching and player development.
As the conference begins, anticipation high. Participants can expect a programme that celebrates the global tennis coaching community and its vital role in shaping the game’s future.
With the next generation of talent in focus, the 2025 ITF World Coaches Conference promises not only to reflect on where the game stands today, but also to chart where it is headed tomorrow.
