Nine players elected to ITF Beach Tennis Player Council for 2022-23

05 Apr 2022

The ITF Beach Tennis players have elected the second ITF Beach Tennis Player Council to represent them and provide input on how the Beach Tennis Tour is run in 2022 and 2023.

As with all player panels and councils, the function of the group is to serve as a crucial channel of communication between the ITF and the players so that both parties have a greater understanding of each other’s priorities and challenges. The council will be consulted on a number of areas including the overall strategy for the growth of beach tennis, tournament standards, optimisation of the calendar, rules and regulations, and other ad hoc decisions taken by the ITF Beach Tennis committee.

The council members are elected alongside criteria to ensure minimum representation from all five regions, different ranking categories as well as male and female players.

The players elected for 2022-23 are as follows:

Maraike Biglmaier (GER)

Yves Fornasier (SUI)

Nicolas Gianotti (FRA)

Satoshi Goda (JPN)

Carolina Hannes (USA)

Ignacio Afonso Montesdeoca (ESP)

Alex Mingozzi (BRA)

Vinicius Rodrigues Font (BRA)

Kyla Yelverton (RSA)

ITF Beach Tennis Manager, Ben Philip, said: “We are very excited to start working with the new Player Council. With key decisions around strategy, tournament standards and the Beach Tennis calendar on the horizon, there are lots of topics the new Council will help us with to shape our sport. My thanks to the outgoing Council members for their commitment and hard work to ensure we keep driving Beach Tennis forward.”
