NEC Wheelchair Masters and UNIQLO Doubles Masters Update

22 Oct 2020

It has been confirmed that due to the ongoing challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic, the NEC Wheelchair Masters and UNIQLO Doubles Masters will not take place in 2020. The season-ending Masters event was originally scheduled to take place in Orlando, Florida (USA) from 16-23 November. Following confirmation that the USTA would be unable to host the event this year, the ITF has been working to identify an alternative host, able to provide a suitable environment for staging the event, with the safety of participants remaining the priority.

Unfortunately, despite interest from alternative hosts, the ongoing spread of Covid-19 and the introduction of restrictions by local and national authorities has meant it is not feasible to stage the event in a way that provides a satisfactory degree of safety and certainty for all participants.

The NEC Wheelchair Masters and UNIQLO Doubles Masters are highlights of the UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tour and the ITF will continue to consult players and national associations in seeking to provide competitive opportunities in 2021.
