Marino matches career-best triumph with victory at W60 Arcadia
Rebecca Marino claimed the second W60 title of her career on the ITF World Tennis Tour after triumphing on US soil in Arcadia.
The 31-year-old Canadian, whose previous biggest tournament wins came at W60 Kurume (Japan) in 2019 and at three further ITF $50k tournaments in 2010, fended off four American opponents including Alycia Parks 7-6(0) 6-1 in the final in California.
Marino began her week by avenging her defeat to 16-year-old Czech Linda Fruhvirtova, who had beaten her in the W25 Cancun final on her last tournament appearance less than two weeks earlier, and cantered through the week as a whole without dropping so much as a set.
The former world No. 38 climbed 19 places in the WTA rankings to No. 123 on Monday as a result - her highest position since March 2012.

Meanwhile, Asia Muhammad continued her excellent start to the year in Australia by claiming her third straight title at ITF W25 level.
The 30-year-old American defeated home favourite Olivia Gadecki 6-2 6-4 to win W25 Bendigo and add to her back-to-back triumphs at W25 Canberra.
Muhammad has compiled a 16-1 win-loss record since pitching up in Australia at the start of the year, with her only defeat coming against Ukrainian Lesia Tsurenko in the second round of qualifying for the Australian Open.
