Spain’s Eduard Esteve Lobato claimed his first ITF World Tennis Tour title for more than two years after defeating all before him to top the podium at M25 Frankfurt am Main.

The 26-year-old, who is ranked No. 421 in the world, overcame Israel’s Yshai Oliel in the final, winning 7-6(1) 6-2, to secure the biggest crown of his career, having never previously triumphed at $25k level.

Lobato now has seven professional titles to his name, all of which have been won on clay, although not since May 2019 at M15 Las Palmas de Gran Canaria had he tasted silverware-winning victory.

He had, however, hinted at a resurgence by reaching the semi-finals at M25 Denia earlier this month, where he succumbed to eventual champion Nick Hardt of Dominican Republic.

Elsewhere on the ITF World Tennis Tour, Argentina’s Roman Andres Burruchaga sealed the first professional title of his career with victory at M15 Gdynia.

Burruchaga, whose father Jorge scored the winning goal for Argentina in the 1986 World Cup Final, navigated qualifying before advancing to the final, where he defeated Canada’s Filip Peliwo to lift silverware.

There was also a first title in the professional ranks for Romania’s Stefan Palosi at M15 Curtea de Arges who, like Burruchaga, negotiated qualifying before advancing to the final. There, he overpowered Facundo Juarez, also of Argentina, to claim victory on home soil.

France’s Dan Added, meanwhile, conquered all before him at M15 Monastir to notch his first title since topping the podium at M25+H Mulhouse in September 2019 – one of three titles that season. The 22-year-old defeated Santiago Fa Rodriguez Taverna, yet another Argentinian, in the final.

The ITF World Tennis Tour Men’s continues with 11 tournaments this week. Follow live results here.
