18 Aug 2025

Teodora Kostovic's impressive start to her professional career took a significant leap on Sunday - with the Serbian winning her first ever title at W75 Kursumlijska Banja.

The 18-year-old, who reached the final in Kursumlijska Banja earlier this season, defeated Lina Gjorcheska 7-5 6-3 in to claim her first piece of silverware.

It was not an easy week for Kostovic, who had to battle through her first four matches in three sets to reach the final.

Kostovic displayed remarkable composure and fighting spirit throughout the week, edging her way through tight third sets to give herself a chance at the title.

The rising star has got off to winning ways in style having claimed the second-highest level of tournament already on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

Kostovic reached as high as world No. 4 in juniors and has made the quarter-finals on three occasions at junior Grand Slams.

Her junior days appear to be behind her as she begins to make her mark in the women's game.

She is now set to make a big leap up the WTA rankings and is expected to reach a new career-high of 265 when they are updated this week.
