Kinoshita collects biggest title yet on home soil
It was a fantastic week for Japan's Hayu Kinoshita.
The 19-year-old, whose only previous title came at W15 Fukui in May 2025, claimed the biggest title of her career at W75 Kyoto.
Kinoshita came all the way from qualifying and dropped just one set throughout her seven matches, defeating compatriot Ena Shibahara 7-5 6-1 in Sunday's final.
Prior to last week, she was ranked at a career-high of world No. 414.
Her triumph on home soil has now seen her rise almost 100 spots in the WTA rankings to a new career-high of 315.
It is no doubt a huge leap for Kinoshita, who will look to put her new ranking to good use as the season goes on.

Though she is still a fair way off being ranked high enough to enter Grand Slam qualifying, it is still a big stepping stone for her career.
