Jones: My challenges have made me the player I am

21 Jan 2020

Great Britain’s Fran Jones was born with Ectrodactyly Ectodermal Dysplasia, a rare syndrome which caused her hands and feet to develop abnormally.

Jones has three toes on her right foot, four on her left and three fingers and a thumb on each hand. Despite the challenges she has had to overcome, the 19-year-old is determined that her condition will not define her.

After making a long-awaited return from injury at W25 Malibu last week, where she reached the second round before falling to Argentina’s Nadia Podoroska, her focus has now switched to W25 Petit-Bourg.

Jones is adamant the hurdles she has had to clear have made her the player she is today. She is fiercely ambitious and hopes to change people’s perspectives on what is achievable in life.
