ITF World Tennis Tour Player of the Month: Mimi Xu

10 Nov 2025

Mimi Xu has been named the ITF World Tennis Tour Women's Player of the Month for October after winning the biggest title of her career.

The British 18-year-old was nominated alongside Olivia Gadecki, Marina Stakusic and Renata Zarazua - with Xu coming out on top in a fan vote held across the ITF website and Instagram stories.

"October was a great month for me," said Xu. "I got to play three events at home, and my results have got me to a career high ranking."

"It's showed all the hard work I've put in for the past few months has been paying off and I'm excited to move forwards from here."

"Winning my biggest title at W100 Wrexham, it was really great to have that home atmosphere with the crowd really helping me through the week, and I just really enjoyed the tournament."

Xu started the month in solid fashion with a quarter-final run at W35 Birmingham, where she was defeated by compatriot and fellow teen Mika Stojsavljevic.

She would not have to wait long for her revenge, however, as they met in the final at W100 Wrexham the following week.

It was a blistering week from Xu. From the quarter-finals onward, she got the better of Harmony Tan, Lily Miyazaki and Stojsavljevic to claim her biggest title yet - marking a significant step forward in her career.

She ended October by reaching the quarter-finals at W75 Glasgow to cap off the most successful period of her career so far.

Mimi Xu is now up to a new career-high ranking of world No. 258 and will undoubtedly be one to watch out for in 2026.

She, along with others, is part of an exciting new generation for British tennis.
